Faculty Update - Preschool
Jenny Martin has been a Christian since she was a young girl and cherishes her relationship with the Lord above all else. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has lived all over the United States, abroad in the Virgin Islands, Cameroon, and Nigeria. She was raised by her father with the help of a West Indian woman from the island of St. Kitts and later a Christian Persian woman from Iran who would read and instruct from her Arabic Bible. For the past seven years, Jenny and her husband Tony, a New Covenant School Board Member, have lived in Anderson and are members of New Covenant Church; they have three adult sons and five grandchildren.
While raising her two young sons, Jenny majored in Family and Child Development, with a focus in Early Childhood Education at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia. After college, she taught 2 year old and 4 year old students at a child development center; later, she was the head pre-kindergarten teacher at a Christian school for 4 year old children. At that school she played guitar and taught songs to a combined group of all pre-K and kindergarten classes. After the birth of her third son, Nikolaos, Jenny chose to stay at home and homeschool him through 9th grade, at which time he enrolled at New Covenant School until his graduation in 2011.
Mrs. Martin has been a Cub Scout leader, Awana leader and Odyssey of the Mind coach for gifted students. She has worked for a newspaper doing page lay-out and designing ads and for the last fifteen years, she has done elder and hospice care. Currently, she is an office manager/administrative assistant for a financial services/insurance company.
Jenny enjoys reading and continued learning, people, travel, camping, canoeing, gardening, singing and playing instruments, cooking, decorating and homemaking. She looks forward to serving the Lord by teaching at New Covenant Preschool and coming alongside parents, as they train up their children in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord. She is eager and excited to be back in the classroom! Please give her a hearty NCS welcome when you see her!
