Updates - Summer 2016

NCS Cavalier headshotHello New Covenant School Family!

This summer has been busy and blessed for New Covenant School. The Lord has been pleased to continue to add to our numbers, so our school has continued to grow.

There are some important updates that I would like to share with our school community as we look forward to the 2016-2017 school year.

First, in the way of blessings and encouragement, myself and ten NCS teachers were able to travel to Atlanta in mid-June for the annual Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) conference. The conference was a blessed time of fellowship, encouragement, learning, networking, and worship for the NCS faculty involved.

Secondly, because of our growth, we have decided that 4th grade will be a self contained class, with Mrs. Kim Roh as the full time 4th grade teacher.

Additionally, we have added enough K4 students to form a third K4 class. This year we will have two K4 classes that will meet 5 days a week and one K4 class that will meet 3 days.

To make room for an additional K4 class, New Covenant Church has graciously allowed us to move our School Library and combine it with their Church Library. So the School Library will now be in the A-building, adjacent to the school office.

Lastly, NCS has decided to add a Cross Country program this fall. It will be open to boys and girls in grades 6th - 12th. The two teams (boys and girls) will practice together two to three times per week and run in five to six meets starting in August and ending in October. The teams will compete as part of the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools (SCACS) and conclude their season at the SCACS State Championship on October 15th. If you would like more information, please contact me (Coach Canney) at canney@ncchurch.net.

There will be more facility and faculty updates to come as school gets closer. Please check your email and our website to make sure you do not miss out on any NCS news!In Christ Alone,Joe CanneyHeadmaster
