Faculty Update: Mrs. Lisa Farmer, K5

New Covenant School is excited to announce that we have hired Mrs. Lisa Farmer as our Half Day Kindergarten teacher for the 2018-2019 school year!

Mrs. Farmer has been teaching for 28 years. She taught Reading Recovery and Reading Comprehension groups most of those years in Kindergarten through 5th Grade classrooms.  She taught 4th grade for 6 years, Gifted & Talented for 3 years, and 4K for 3 years, all in Anderson School District Five.  She is a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy and Associate Fellow in Orton Gillingham. She graduated from Clemson with a Masters Degree in Reading and an advanced degree as Reading Specialist.IMG_1398

Lisa has been married to her high school sweetheart Tim for 27 years. They have two boys, Grant age 20 and Drew age 17. Grant is a junior at College of Charleston studying Meteorology and Drew is a junior at TL Hanna.

Mrs. Farmer has two dogs, a Yorkie named Maddie and a Griffon named Duke.  She enjoys taking walks with Tim and Duke, riding her bike and reading. She also enjoys her flowers, a day on the boat with her family, and Clemson football games.

She challenges herself to read her Bible through each year and her favorite verse is Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”  She’s excited to meet the smiling faces coming her way for Kindergarten and we are excited and blessed to have her join our staff! Please join us in welcoming her!
