Meet Mr. Kevin Arledge, Upper School Science Teacher, affectionately known by his students as the most interesting man in the world.

"God is faithful. Since I came on faculty at NCS, I have gained a reputation for telling interesting stories during class discussions. I have a lot of interesting stories mainly because I have been blessed with quite a few years, and God filled those years with adventure. Many of those years were incredibly difficult; they were full of pressure and conflict and deadlines. Even through tough times, however, every day was a blessing. God always put me in the right place at the right time to make an impact in this world. Through difficult times I kept going by remembering Who was in control and where He was taking me.

Looking back and seeing God’s blessings even through the tough times provides a good reminder for times like these that we currently face. God did not put us on earth and guarantee us smooth sailing, but He did guarantee that He would always be with us, that He would never leave us, and that He would always be in control. He is working out His plan and nothing can stop that.

I am very blessed to be on staff at NCS. Whenever I get a chance, I tell my students (and others) that this is the best job I have ever had. Every day I look forward to learning something new and sharing it with students. My greatest joy is igniting curiosity and a sense of adventure in students. I love to see them get excited and want to explore creation on their own initiative. Having a student show me photos of Jupiter and Saturn lined up on the ecliptic, or post a photo of Jupiter and Saturn in conjunction, or having a senior try to explain the wonders of relativistic space-time considerations to a younger sibling proves I am getting the job done.

I love my coworkers and their dedication to our mission. I love the students. It is a joy to watch them grow in stature, and knowledge, and in relationship to our Lord. I can think of no better job for my retirement than striving to present every student complete in Christ.”

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
