When our oldest child was about to turn three years old, my husband and I began looking for preschools, and we quickly learned that Anderson has many excellent options for preschool. However, when we toured New Covenant and met with the preschool director and Headmaster, we knew something was really special about this school.

My husband and I both received public school education and we truly never considered anything different for our children until we were introduced to the Classical Christian Education (CCE) model that New Covenant offers.

We love how the CCE focus changes with the growing child’s mind. In the preschool/elementary years when their brains are like sponges, the children spend time memorizing facts and verses. The middle school years are focused on logic as they begin to challenge the ways of the world. The high school years are focused on forming and defending their own opinions as they prepare to go out into the world.

This model of learning was quite different than the way my husband and I were educated, and while there was nothing wrong with our education, we both desired to have our girls go to a school where they would learn and grow in developmentally appropriate ways, with like-minded families and with a curriculum that was rooted in Christ.

However, the superb education they receive is not all academic. They are taught important life lessons such as how to be a good friend, how to be a helper, how to pray for others, how to serve others, and how to put others before yourself. These are not natural things for young children to do and it reinforces the lessons we try to teach them at home.

In the two and a half years that we have had our girls at New Covenant, we have seen significant spiritual and academic growth as well as substantial character development.  It has been easy for our children (and ourselves) to develop life-long friendships with the staff and other families due to the family oriented atmosphere at NCS.

If you want to ensure that your children have a solid educational foundation, smaller class sizes, warm and welcoming teachers, and staff who use a Biblical framework for all learning, then New Covenant School is the school for you!

Our journey at New Covenant began three years ago as our daughter was starting preschool.  We knew we wanted her to learn about Jesus every day and for the school to build upon the foundation we were laying at home.  We also wanted a school that provided a structured yet fun learning environment.  We explored all options and after much contemplation and prayer, the Lord confirmed that New Covenant was the place for us.

Before coming to New Covenant, the idea of Classical Christian Education was unfamiliar to us.  Upon further investigation, it’s objective of shaping the virtues and reasoning of our children so that they will be in line with God’s will spoke to us.  Classical Christian Education’s goal of producing students that think well, of being wise and humble while loving to learn and seeking to learn throughout their life was exactly what we wanted for our children.

New Covenant not only focuses on our children’s intellectual development but also provides opportunities for them to serve the community.  Several times throughout the year their class visits a nursing home, participates in service projects and gives to those in need.  This helps instill the importance of stewardship and giving back what the Lord has given us.

We now have two children at New Covenant and they genuinely enjoy going to school.  The faculty’s love for our children and their enthusiasm for educating is evident.  We appreciate how New Covenant challenges our children academically and spiritually.  The school has been a blessing for our family, and we look forward to seeing all God has in store for the future.

We felt the overwhelming responsibility of choosing a school for our children when we moved to Anderson. Our oldest would be starting kindergarten, and we felt led to pursue a Christian school. We wanted our Christian beliefs to be an integral part of their education to build upon the foundation we were teaching in our home. After searching and visiting schools in the area, we felt God was calling our family to New Covenant School. What a blessing it has been! We   are so impressed by the classical Christian curriculum and are encouraged to watch as these principles are taught in every class from Math to History to PE! We have watched our girls grow both academically and spiritually during their time at New Covenant School. We love the supportive family environment and the opportunities extended to families to participate in the classroom as well as in school programs. We have watched the school serve so many in our community. We are blessed to part of the New Covenant family and are so excited to have a third child in the school this year. It is delightful to watch as God continues work in this school!
