NCS presents WAIT UNTIL DARK

Wait Until Dark InstagramWith 2016 under way, New Covenant School has begun preparations for the Silent Auction /Theater Fundraiser, one of the most anticipated events of the year. Audiences will be interested to learn that after two years of light-hearted comedies, Producer Angie Harmon and Director Rev. Camden Simon are mounting a production of a different sort.

'Wait Until Dark', a thriller by Frederick Knott, follows the story of Suzy Hendrix; a recently blind woman whose life is about to take a frightening turn when her home is invaded by a trio of dangerous men. The Hitchcock-esque story was brought to the big screen in 1967 with Audrey Hepburn in the lead role.

Although the genre is quite different than the successful productions of years past, Mrs. Harmon expects audience members will not be disappointed. Unlike the two previous period comedies, Wait Until Dark is a suspenseful thriller set in modern day. “There are moments we feel the audience will be on the edge of their seats,” said Mrs. Harmon. With a cast and crew comprised of veterans of previous shows and a group of first-timers, the show promises to be unlike anything ever seen before at NCS.

The production dates are Thursday April 28 & Friday April 29th. A silent and live auction fundraiser will be conducted both nights, and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.
